Thanks to donors like you, in the 15 years since our founding, the Washington State Budget & Policy Center has grown into an ever-stronger voice for bold policy solutions investing in people and communities across Washington.
In fact, after years of working so hard on our research, communications, and advocacy in support of a more inclusive economy, we just saw historic wins in the 2021 state legislative session on two of our signature policy priorities! These successes are a big move toward fixing our inequitable tax code:
- The Working Families Tax Credit, which provides direct cash support to the people who most need it; and
- A state capital gains wealth tax, which ensures to the ultra-wealthy pay their share.
We could not have gotten here without you, our financial contributors. We’ve been community-supported and partner-driven from the beginning. We’re relentlessly open to learning (and researching and analyzing and more researching) what we can do to create a more just and prosperous state and then putting that work into action alongside our many partners.
Now, we hope that you will join us on June 2nd at 3:30pm PT for a virtual donor event that celebrates how far we’ve come – and to look toward to how we can continue to build a brighter and more equitable future together!
Click here to write your wish for the future of the Budget & Policy Center on a cute cupcake graphic that you can share at the event.
There is no cost to register for this benefit. At the event, you will be invited to join us in building the future of the Budget & Policy Center, both financially and with deeper commitments around power-building and anti-racism. This event, which is part of a year-long celebration of our 15th anniversary, is for current and former financial contributors to our organization. Closed captioning will be provided. If you have any additional accessibility needs, please email Madeleine Krass (madeleinek@budgetandpolicy.org), and we will do our best to accommodate them.
