About Preston Parish, Research & Policy Director
Preston (he/him) was previously the Budget and Policy Center’s research and policy director. Preston (Ojibwe) is a citizen of the Bay Mills Indian Community and grew up on his tribal nation’s reservation in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He came to the Budget and Policy Center from the Montana Budget and Policy Center, where he worked most recently to advance state investments in tribal communities, defend tribal sovereignty, and empower tribal communities to make their voices heard in the state budget-making and policymaking processes. Preston holds a master’s degree in public policy and a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, both from the University of Michigan
