Leit (they/them) helps advance the Budget and Policy Center’s commitment to equity through internal practices that subvert, challenge, and de-center white supremacist norms in organizational structure.
They worked with nonprofit behavioral health and social services organizations for 10 years in roles focused on community engagement, training, and operations. Leit has a master’s degree in public administration from the University of San Francisco and finds great satisfaction in advocating with colleagues for just policies in Washington state that allow individuals, families, and communities to thrive. They believe that the workplace is a key space to create conditions that support individual and collective liberation.
Leit is passionate about access to public spaces, whether that’s opportunities to engage with local elected officials, preserving neighborhood greenspaces or building new community gardens, playgrounds or walking and biking paths. They enjoy spending time with their dog, going hiking, gardening, volunteering and exploring the many hidden gems to be found in the south King County area where they live.
